Weekend Roundup April 7th 2018

Here is a roundup of the weekend's action in the Toolstation Western League Division 1.

Top of the table Roman Glass St. George travelled to Warminster and secured a 4 - 2 victory to put them on 82 points and keep them in the number one position. This was helped by a hat-trick from Ryan Radford (match report). Warminster Town are still looking to get some points and to climb off the bottom of the table. Fellow strugglers, Portishead Town were due to play Welton Rovers but the match was postponed.

Westbury United after a 1 - 1 draw at middle-of-the-table Chard Town remains in second place with 79 points and a game in hand over Roman Glass. Keynsham Town part of the battle for league supremacy won 5 - 1 at home against Calne Town with the highest league attendance of the day, 108. Warminster Town had the second highest with 100 once again showing the support and visitors the club gets is growing. Third-placed Keynsham now has 78 points to their name and are helping to make the Division One promotion chase all rather interesting.

At the opposite end of the table, third from the bottom is where Sherborne Town still remain following a 5 - 2 home defeat to Chippenham Park. It's still all to play for at the top and bottom of the league as the fixtures are coming thick and fast due to all the postponed games over the very wet period we have had.
